Welcome!

   I am Mrs. Brenda Manning the Reading Resource teacher here at St. Mary's Visitation School. 

      I hold an undergraduate degree from Illinois State University in Elementary Education with a Reading minor.  I continued my education and obtained my 316 Reading Teacher license from Alverno College in 2003, and am currently working toward my Reading Specialist license in Alverno's Master of Arts program. 

     While this is only my second year at St. Mary's, I have taught for 12 years.  In addition to being a Reading Resource teacher, I have been a Title I Reading teacher, and taught 4K, 5K, and 6th grade.  When not in the classroom, I enjoy reading and spending time with my husband and four children!

     I look forward to working with your children each day!  Our Reading Resource program here is based on the individual needs of each student.  Following the principles of best practice, my goal is to help each student integrate the skills he or she needs to become a successful, independent reader.
